NJWC Recognized for their Foam Collection Efforts, June 24, 2014
Northboro Junior Woman’s Club was honored within the General Federation of Women’s Clubs for its local PS6 foam recycling initiatives. In May 2014, NJWC was awarded first place among GFWC Clubs in Massachsuetts. As the state winner, NJWC’s foam recycling collaboration with ReFoamIt LLC, Algonquin Regional High School students, and the Department of Public Works in Northboro advanced the project for national recognition. A total of 35 states submitted projects for consideration. The top five winners were announced at the GFWC annual convention on June 24th in Chandler, AZ at the Community Improvement Program Awards luncheon. Northboro members Nancy Coughlin, Mary Kemp, and Jane Walsh were happily in attendance to learn of their Club’s second place finish. The recognition includes a grant for future work promoting the recycling of PS6 foam.
