Styrofoam can not be recycled through most town programs, which means it is burned with the trash which creates a toxic ash, or it is put directly into the landfill, where it doesn’t break down-ever! All Styrofoam that is collected through the programs listed below will be recycled or reused. Packing peanuts and plastic utensils will only be accepted at the single day events.
The towns listed below have ongoing Styrofoam Recycling programs and one day events are listed below. Ongoing, KWD, 582 Great Road, N. Smithfield, RI
KWD will accept Styrofoam M-F. Please call Ron before dropping off at 401-769-0306. Any truckloads MUST be have an appointment to be sure there is someone to unload the truck. Individuals may place the Styrofoam in the caged in area. Please tell Ron that you read about it on refoamit.com.
Ongoing, Town of Attleboro, MA
Styrofoam may now be dropped off at the Recycling Center. It is located at 29 Pond Street North next to the Compost Center. Pond Street North is located off of Read Street and Route 152. The hours are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12:30pm to 3:30pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 1:00pm. All Styrofoam will be recycled.
Ongoing, Town of Carlisle, MA
Carlisle began collecting Styrofoam at their transfer station during regular hours beginnin on May 7, 2011. The Styrofoam container is located behind the glass collection container. Carlisle residents may place their Styrofoam in the Styrofoam container located behind the glass collection container.
Ongoing, Town of Natick, MA
Natick residents may bring their Styrofoam packing blocks to the transfer station on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Ongoing, Town of Reading, MA
Reading residents may bring their Styrofoam to our new drop-off location at the DPW Facility located at 75 Newcrossing Rd. The operating hours will be Monday – Friday from 7:30am to 2:30pm. The pdf below lists what can be brought to this location.

The transfer station has a bin to collect packing Styrofoam only. No more food containers will be excepted. All Styrofoam must be clean and free of tape, cardboard and food. Please bring these to one of ReFoamIt's single day events that is open to the public.
